About Us
The founder, Sunaina Pati, has always been interested in maths; being the daughter of two mathematicians and two teachers, teaching is her second passion after learning new maths. After competing in so many math competitions, she realised that the popularity and trend of doing non-routine mathematics are quite less in the northeast India compared to other part of India. Hence, she started the philomath club with the aim to spread the awareness of non-routine mathematics among the students studying in grades 4,5,6,7 and 8.
The liking( or disliking) towards maths develop in the early stages and moreover, it largely depends on the teacher who only teaches the things in textbooks. We teach beyond the curriculum, something different, something unique.
Northeast India does have brilliant students, the only thing required is to spread the spark. We hope, through this club, children start to learn about new olympiads and participate in them. We conduct classes once a week discussing a few topics and problems.
We also aim to close the gender gap in STEM and encourage female students to participate!
